This tip is for all you photographers who suffer from Disappearing Friend Syndrome. You know what I mean! You’re always at every event, but you’re never in any of the pictures because you’re the one taking them!
This holiday season, make an effort to actually be IN some photos! Just because you’re the family photographer doesn’t mean you get erased from the album. More than that, make an effort to be in the moment when you’re spending this rare, concentrated time with friends and family. Be present and enjoy the company; it’s much more rewarding than fiddling with your smartphone or DSLR! Go ahead and take some photos, but allow yourself to relax out of photographer mode and limit the time you spend doing that while you’re around your loved ones.
